Say & Pray Devotions ~ Review

*This post may contain affiliate links.*

I want two things for my kids – Learn to read God’s word and pray fervently. The problem is, I have one kid who has not quite grasped that desire to read yet. Developmentally, I’m not concerned, but boy would it be nice if he’d just get on board with it and make my life easier. HA!

He's an excellent fake reader! Ha!
He’s an excellent fake reader! Ha!

Disclaimer: I was given a free copy of Say & Pray Devotions – First Words, Devotions, and Prayers in exchange for an honest review.

At first, I thought it might be aimed for kids much younger than he is. With all of the object labels in the book, I also hoped maybe it would at least teach him a few words, therefore making me a happier mama. You know what? It did! When we got the book, he tore it open and ran to the couch with it! He sat, looking at the pictures, pointing to them, and saying the word. Maybe he’s going to be a sight reader instead of a phonics reader? Who knows, but the book taught him words!

In addition to the object labeling, the book has daily devotions broken into 3 categories – God’s World, God’s Gifts, and God’s Love. Each day has a short one sentence devotion, and on the opposite page, it has a Bible verse and a short prayer. The daily devotions are short enough to keep your small child’s attention, but still introducing them to the truth about God.

This board book has a padded board cover, and brightly colored, sturdy board book pages. It is a great quality material and as cute as can be! Samoo is 6, and really enjoyed it, so I’d say it would be good for birth to 6-7 years old.
