Project Cleanse ~ Spiritual Cleansing

I am participating in Project Cleanse, a small group of bloggers who are banding together to support one another in any type of cleansing project. We are each going to blog about our own cleansing experience, whatever area of life that may be.

Every new year begins with me setting myself up for failure. I make two or three resolutions for how I am going to change my life. I am either going to quit cursing, give up soda, or clean the closets and have an organized house. Whatever the case, it never happens.

One thing I have said many years is that I want to be closer to God. Over the years I have grown closer to him, but I still have so far to go. As long as I am living in a life of chaos, I do not believe I am able to grow as close to Him as I could. That is why this year, I threw away the resolutions and am focusing on growing closer to God.

I have chosen to focus on spiritual cleansing. I feel like without being spiritually cleansed and closer to God, I will not be able to work on other areas of my life. I want to be more intentional about spending time with God, reading my Bible, time in prayer, and in fellowship with other Christians. Through these things, I will inadvertently be working on areas of my life that keep me from fully glorifying God. I will be improving those areas of being a Mommy that need to be improved, I will work on my tongue that is like sword thrusts, and I will work on so many other areas that prevent me from truly letting His light shine.

If you would like to join us in this journey, please to leave me a comment. I would love to pray for you. Also, to read the journeys of the other ladies who are a part of Project Cleanse, please click on the banner to be taken to Life in a Barn where you can find the other ladies who are a part of this project.

Oh, and starting tomorrow, I will be waking up much earlier than normal. I need to have that special, quiet time alone with God. I want to be intentional about this time with Him and I cannot do that with 4 squirrels begging for their morning serving of nuts!
