The dad in this picture looks like Doug. Doug was a favorite cartoon for my brothers and honestly, I really enjoyed the adventures of Doug Funni, Porkchop (his dog), and his friends.
We still have a couple of Doug VHS tapes hanging around. When D pulls them out, I think about Doug writing in his journal, reflecting on the events of his life. Then I think about the events of our lives…mostly the events of D’s life. I honestly think if I did not have this blog I might lose my mind (what’s left of it).
I never envisioned myself as a writer. In fact, while I always did well in composition English classes, I never really cared for them. I’ve learned, however, that writing does not have to be an assignment from an English teacher, instead it is an outlet. It is a way for me to process what is happening, a way for me to express my feelings about different topics.
Through processing and expressing, I pray that I am always able to bring glory to God, the one who has given me this blog, the one who has given me my children and husband. I pray that I always write in a way to show His love.
