In January, a friend of mine started a program called “The Bible in 90 Days”. I have always wanted to read the Bible from cover to cover. However, being a person who hates to read, the task has always seemed quite daunting. As she was reading and posting about her readings, I realized that her messages were speaking to me. I realized that her relationship with Christ was growing and she was growing in a way that I want to grow.
She told me there would be another challenge in July, so I started praying about it. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to commit myself to that type of intense reading, but I felt like God was talking to me. I continued to feel the pull towards this and know that this was the time for me to do it. So, I decided to take the challenge.
What do I hope to gain during this quick read of the Bible?
I pray that God will speak to me in a special way each day. I pray that I will learn more about God’s love and promises to us, his people. I pray that God will speak to me in a way that will help me to help my children. Most of all, I pray that I will grow in my relationship with Him and therefore be able to show His love to all of those around me.
If you feel this is something you would like to join, please click the picture above and sign up to read with me. Please leave a comment and let me know you are going to read so that I can be praying for you during this time. There is this Bible that has been produced for this program. It is supposed to make it easier to reach the goal due to less footnotes, larger print, and the readings are broken up along with the reading schedule to complete the program. I don’t have it, so I can’t comment whether it is really beneficial, but I wanted to give you the information in case it will help you.
Also, please pray for me as I start this. Please pray that God’s work speaks to me in a special way and pray that I do not let Satan tear me down during this time. Please pray for my patience, fortitude, and desires to stay in the Bible during this time so that I can reach my goal.
Thank you all for your continued support!
